Rainy Day Bubbles

h1 Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

I’m inside snug as a bug, while my 3.5 year old is outside romping around in the rain.  Its nice that he is old enough that he can explore on his own without me there at every moment. He spent a while looking for snails, emptying containers that had been filled with rain water overnight, and playing in the sandbox.  Then he noticed the bubble container that we had left out.  So he has been blowing bubbles on the back deck for a while.  When the door glass had become so soapy from flying bubbles, the activity morphed into window washing with a spray bottle and rag. Then once the window was clean and dry, he asked for my foaming hand soap and purple water. Now there are purple suds streaming down the window. Fun!

Kiddie Pool

h1 Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Last Friday it was about a million degrees here in SF. We called up our friend Juniper (22 months ish) to meet up at a community pool.  With logistics such as naps and lunches and parking to deal with, I decided to just go to the hardware store and pick up a $10 kiddie pool.  It was a hit.

Sound of Music

h1 Monday, December 29th, 2008

For years I’ve dreamed of going to the Sound of Music Sing-a-Long-a at the Castro Theater. I just found out that there are two more nights of it. I’m trying to figure out if its doable with a 3 month old. Perhaps I’ll buy tickets for tomorrow night and if its too loud then we can leave. Hrmmm…. Sounds fun!

Superhero Camp

h1 Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Yesterday at the gym, I briefly overheard a conversation about this lady’s son going to Superhero Camp in the summer.  I’m not sure what is involved, but it sounds like a lot of fun! I wonder if they teach the kids how to fly!

Sedaris is back!

h1 Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I woke up this morning to discover that David Sedaris has a new book out!  I am so excited that I can’t even wait for Amazon Prime Shipping.  I’m actually going to drive over to the book store and pick up a copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames right after the gym.

Easter Bay BBQ

h1 Monday, March 24th, 2008

Pete & Kim initiated an East-er Bay BBQ over at Albany Bulb. It was pretty much the most perfect thing to do yesterday. The sun was warm, and the view of the bay and the city was amazing. The one easter goodie I was craving the most was there! I guess it must be a classic. A mini sandwich composed of a roll (preferably the Hawaiian kind), ham (can be honey baked or not, this one was), and dijon mustard. MMmmm MMmm Good!

The way the story of Albany Bulb goes is that it used to be a landfill. Then after that it was a homeless camp. Then a couple years ago the homeless were kicked out, and now it is kind of a nature area, with lots of old junk, and a spectacular view of the city. The area we were at has a neat little skate bowl and a built in barbeque.
