Apple Blossom

The baby room is being painted today! Whee! I didn’t think the painters were going to be able to come until next week, which would be after the baby shower.  I was hoping they could do it today, but I hadn’t heard back.  This morning at 9:30 they called and said they could be here in 45 minutes, if I wanted.  So I took the fastest shower ever, and ran down to the paint store and picked up a gallon of Aura Eggshell in Apple Blossom (light green).

Oh, and today is 32 weeks!

Peonies

h1 Friday, May 30th, 2008

My peonies are on their way downhill, and even then they manage to look spectacular as their petals explode onto the table below.

I saw this today on Design*Sponge and I gotta make me one.

I just love doll parts.  You think its too creepy for the baby room?

It’s a Scorcher!

Right now (12:16 pm) it is very hot in San Francisco.  We consider a 75 degree day to be hot.  If it hits 75, you can bet people will be picnicking and frolicking in every park and in every bar and cafe with an outside courtyard.  Today, right now, its 98.4 degrees.

Our black dog doesn’t know what to do with herself.  She is roasty.  I think I might give her a bath in the cool hose water in order to give her some relief.

UPDATE:

I just checked the temp again.  4:05 pm and it is 106 degrees!

From the Flagstones

h1 Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

We are finally starting to make our house OUR house. Its been 3 years and we are doing some of the things we meant to do a long time ago. We painted (had painted), our dining room, hallway, and hallway doors. What a difference it has made!

The spiffication process also included some yard work.  It is by no means complete, but we have made some changes.  The most dramatic of which is more flagstone patio.  We originally had 3 raised planter beds.  We ripped out 2 to make more room for entertaining.  Those 2 boxes never got enough sunlight to grow anything useful anyway.  Now when we sit on our new patio it feels like we are actually in the garden, not just looking over at it.

Super Cute Night lights

h1 Friday, April 11th, 2008

I think these night lights would be adorable in the baby’s room.

Rainbow

Today I was at Rainbow Market and they had some beautiful organic flowers.

I couldn’t resist.

André

h1 Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Its Spring and I’ve been bit by the crafty-knitty-redecoratey-paint the walls-redo the yard bug. We have been talking about getting a new couch for months, but it was never the #1 priority. When we were at Room & Board shopping for an office armoire, we decided to get the André Couch and Chair in Teton Pewter.
They arrived on Tuesday and really make the house feel like grown-ups live here.
